The United Country Riverbend USA is pleased to present the outstanding estate auction of the late Ms.Mary Eleanor Meadows. Ms. Meadows was 94 years old at her passing. She was a lifelong resident of Hinton and was a school teacher at Hinton High School. Ms. Meadows was a personal friend of Sen. Robert C. Byrd. This is a very large auction with something for everyone, make plans to attend.

Mary Eleanor Meadows of 1001 Temple Street in Hinton, WV was born on January 6, 1915 in Hinton and she was the daughter of the late James Green and Effie Miller Meadows.
Miss Meadows was a graduate of Hinton High School and West Virginia University. While attending WVU, she was very active in campus activities, including being selected Sweetheart of Sigma Chi Sorority. Mary was born, grew up and lived at the same residence except for the time she spent at WVU and the summers at Marshall. She spent her entire career teaching English at Hinton High School beginning in 1937 and retiring in 1973. Through the years at Hinton High, she helped many students in preparing for higher education and career choices.
Miss Meadows spent her the last five years of her life in a nursing home. She was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church, the Hinton Woman’s Club, Summers County Retired Teachers Association and the Hinton Senior Citizens. Miss Meadows was a lifelong resident of Hinton. Much of the personal property belonged to her parents. Her father was a railroader and head of the new Hinton Post Office in the 1920’s. He grew up on the Meadows farm located on the Mountain above present concrete plant. Effie Meadows, her mother grew up in Lowell, WV.
Mary was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include several cousins, and several close friends.
1948 BUICK SEDAN: Super as found 1948 Buick Sedan has been garage kept and was last licensed in 1967. We have the original owner’s manuals and other documents with this outstanding vehicle. VIN #14839289, miles showing 56773. This is a real find and is fresh out of the garage for the first time in a long time.

Ernest Money Deposit due upon the fall of the hammer is $2500.00 to be paid in verifiable funds upon the fall of the hammer. Acceptable deposits in US funds include good check, cashier’s check, wire transfer (call for wiring instructions) and cash.
A $1500.00 Buyers Premium will be charged to the buyer of this property, and added to the final auction block bid to become part of the total contract sales price. The property will convey free and clear of any liens or back taxes. The current year’s taxes will be prorated at closing. The property will convey by a Special Warranty Deed. Closing is to occur within 30-45 from the close of the auction. Time is of the essence with this transaction. The property is being sold ‘AS IS, WHERE IS”.
Default: By the Seller. Should the Seller not be able to convey the property free and clear of liens or back taxes, the Buyer will be refunded their deposit. This shall be the sole remedy for the buyer.
Default: By the Buyer. Should the Buyer not close for any reason with the Seller being able to produce free and clear title the Buyer shall forfeit to the Seller the entire deposit earnest money. The Seller also reserves the right to seek damages from the Buyer.
